Want to tinker with locks and tools the likes of which you've seen in movies featuring police, spies, and secret agents? Then come on by the Locksport Village, run by Topy, Klepas, Lana & MOF.
You will have the opportunity to learn hands-on how the fundamental hardware of physical security operates and how it can be compromised.
The locksport table is a physical security demonstration and participation area.
Visitors can learn about the vulnerabilities of various locking devices, techniques used to exploit these vulnerabilities and practice on locks of various levels of difficulty to try it themselves. There will also be an opportunity to test out your skill and compete in the Australian BSides locking picking competition.

A wide variety of devices and locations are secured using "Tamper Evident Seals". These clever little devices are simple security mechanisms designed to clearly show if someone has opened or accessed something or somewhere without authorization if managed correctly. However, like all things, there are weaknesses! We will have a selection of tamper evident seals for participants to attempt to bypass and play with for the duration of the conference. Everything from physical attacks using precision instruments to chemical solvents will be used in order explore this often overlooked area of security.
